Double Snow Day!

At the very beginning of December we had a Double Snow Day! Don't fool yourselves, snow days are JUST as exciting when you're an adult!!!! This snow day was really perfect because the snow was white, fluffy and smothering everything!  Follow me on this snow day adventure!

It started to snow Wednesday afternoon. I actually had a horrible migraine that
day...and when FB friends started posting about the huge snow flakes and
snow fall, it all started to make sense!
When Jason got home from school we wanted to take Isaac out in the snow.
We were not prepared for this though!
We had his snow suit from last year, but no boots.
So we duck taped plastic bags to his super layered sock feet and then tried to
stuff them into his too-big crocs (for next summer).
Well he LOVED the snow but his shoes kept coming off.
And I just really felt like a failure of a mom!
We ended up throwing snowballs from the corner and then
heading inside the Romsas house to chat and warm up.

The next day was Snow Day 1. We snow-suited-up again, this time
with just regular shoes and "Tried" to introduce Isaac to
sledding. Except, again, we were totally unprepared for this.
So we grabbed some plastic bags and headed to the closest hill we
knew of (at the library) and tried to sled on the bags.
The snow today was harder and a little icy. Sledding did not go over well.

Then we headed over to the Grading/Movie party at the Edwards'
house. Isaac was fashionable large gloved. You can see pics of grading
and movies, Isaac playing in the other room, and then dinner at our
favorite meat place!

Snow Day 2
Brought us the brilliant idea for a new snow day tradition:
Snowman pancakes!!!!
Choco chips and blueberries are excellent snowman
accessories, so these were a hit.
Isaac ADORES blueberries right now. He's pointing at them
and begging for more in the picture!

Another walk outside and Isaac really liked exploring the
snow. This time we ended up heading to the Kolbes' house
for some sugar cookie making and fun!

The little dudes were super excited about cookie making.
I simply adore the grin on Isaac's face in the bottom picture.
And also at the bottom you can see all the adults finishing up
the cookie project as the littles got down to play ;)

Hmmm.... Nobody's watching me....I think I'll eat this.

These double snow days gave us a perfect 4 day weekend right before Christmas season. I was so grateful for our family and friend times together. A wonderful weekend of fun!
