"She Yelled and Called Me Names"

I read this story recently from my friend's FB post. At first I skipped over it because it was (seemingly) a story about Starbucks. But I kept seeing it that day and finally read it. Boy, was I GLAD I did!

Read it slowly. Let the imagery sink in. And the reality of how many times you might've been in that exact situation.

This has been my prayer since I read this article- that I too "would see people the way He sees them, not the way I see them. Seeing them for hurting inside, not just their hurtful outside."

But it's not always easy. In fact, praying that almost makes me see the hurtfulness even more. But I have to constantly remind myself that I can't see what's in them.

The day I shared this with our staff at school ended up being a horrible, no good, very bad, rotten day. Parents were complaining, people were mad, fits were thrown, words were said, stress levels reached maximum capacity. I came home with a huge headache and went to bed early. I imagine a few others did too.

Lord, help me see that person that way you see them. Help us all. I can certainly see how the devil is using this encouragement to test us in negative ways. Help us fight against his schemes.
