Be You, Bravely! Bravely
This year I am super excited to be a part of the local MOPS program in Songtan. (Actually we're the only one in Korea!) Our theme is Be You, Bravely and I love it.
I spent a good part of the summer wrestling with how this theme fit with the respective icons (feathers, arrows) and memory verse (Isaiah 43: 18-19) all given to us from MOPS International.
Take a quick look...
All that musing leads me to the memory verse,
How awesome it is to trust God-to let go of the past mistakes and see the NEW thing he is making us (new parent, new woman, new wife, new Christian, new ____).
NOW it springs up, do you not perceive it? (It is still happening, just take a look!)
I am making a way in the wilderness and the wastelands (I am bringing good where there was previously none. Look at this great thing I am doing!)
Meditating on this verse brings me great joy! I am not going to lie, it is one of the biggest encouragements of my year!
So I am excited about this year. Please pray for the team as we are all completely new this year, but leading a well-established group. Pray especially for the moms who attend that they would be blessed, encouraged, and comfortable for those few moments a month.
We meet once a month: usually the second Wednesday of the month from 9-11:30am at MBC. If you're in the area we'd love to have you join us!

My wrestling finally settled when I first read the story of Mr. and Mrs. Sparrow (from Beth Moore's book, Feathers from my Nest). It's a short story about 2 sparrows who are about to leave their nest, reminiscing about the memories of their growth children and how they trust that they've grown them well, yet still take them with them in love. The story is really powerful and helped me latch on to the idea of the feathers. Birds are brave from the second they step off their nests and begin to fly. They are brave to soar and surround themselves in God's creation from high above. There is freedom is soaring and flying. But their is also trust in it as well. Birds trust that whatever law of physics will keep them afloat in the air, that their wings are strong to navigate them and take them where they need to go.
These are all easy analogies for faith but also parenting!
All that musing leads me to the memory verse,
"Forget the former things, do now dwell on the past,
see I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wastelands."
