Recipe Exchange: Winter Edition
This afternoon we had a recipe exchange with some lovely Korean women at the church. The idea was the have a Korean share one recipe for the Americans to learn and one American share a recipe for the Koreans to learn. We made Pork Mandu and Kimchi Mandu for the Korean dish and Healing Cabbage Soup for the American dish.
It was a very small turn out but wonderful company nonetheless. I love learning from the ladies of our church--both sides!
Cabbage Soup is budget friendly and so easy! |
Stephanie shared a secret: skimming the bubbly film off the top of the soup is better for you, like clearing off the impurities. |
Katie enjoys a warm bowl of cabbage soup and some fun conversation topics ;) |
Let the mandu mountain begin! |
Squeezing tofu to release the juices. Before cooking mandu, we need to take all the juices out of each ingredient. |
Learning the shapes. |
We made enough to feed a pack of wolves! Seriously! It was so fun though! |
I think we all learned some easy things to cook today! Even though mandu involves a lot of chopping, it isn't precise, so you can make it how your family likes it! All the food was delicious :) DOn't you wish you had come!
Will you be posting the recipes?
