Missions Trip Dinner
March 1st was a fundraiser dinner to support the HS Mission Trip team. The students/teachers/parents whoa re going on the mission trip leave on March 17 to head to the Philippines, and return March 24. I love the dinner this year as we got to spend time with good company but also really learn about the organization they are going to support. Here's a glimpse at our night.
Miss Shannon Hugo lead us in a trivia game "Who Knows the Most about the Philippines?" |
We ate Mylene's yummy salad and lasagna....Isaac tried to steal a taste too. |
4 audience members were guests in a Filipino Folk Story. |
They sat at seats with their hidden identity until play time. Kari was Husband, Tad was Wife, Steve was Child (Mason--in 1st shot--was The Old Lady) |
Jonah told us why he's going on the trip. |
Andrew also told us why he's going. |
Distracted by this baby. |
Most of the team! |
We also watched a slideshow from previous years and a video from the actual ministry they will be supporting. This is this video about Kids International Ministry in the Philippines.
We want to thank you as you've supported this missions team: through your donations to us, we've been able to give to them!
Finally, here is a list of prayer requests from the team:
-safe travels
-that we would do God's work for all who need it
-that everything goes well for us on the trip, but more so that we will help the people
-that we will be able to change live of many people
-that we would be good ambassadors of God's love to other people
-that our group would have hearts that would love the Gospel of Jesus Christ
-that our group would treasure and value the all-surpassing worth of Christ
-that we would boldly proclaim the Gospel
-that we would encourage the missionaries currently in the Philippines
-for Jeff Long and his family, the found of KIM, who will remain there laboring long after we leave
-that God would live in the hearts of each of us to trust him more, love Christ more, and desire to serve others no matter where we are.
(and an additional prayer-that God would work in the hearts of the students attending who are unsaved. May He show His mercy, power, and compassion during this trip.)
