At the end of last week's
Donations Drive, some people were chatting in the lobby and we were marveling over how so few students can bring in so much stuff. I jokingly mentioned, "Yeah, we should be on the news..." which is all our director needed to set that into motion. A few hours later we had arranged for a news crew and newspaper to meet us on Tuesday morning for interviews and recreating the key elements of this drive.
After a weekend of excited anticipation, the day came today and here's what we did:
6th grade brought in 20% of the entire week's donations! They earned the privilege of TV interviews and delivering the donations |
The news crew wanted to recreate a few scenes--bringing in the donations and being in class, ect. |
packing the boxes |
loading the truck |
In the van. having fun. These kids are great! |
special delivery |
Interviews were captured in several locations. |
These are the only 4 shelves at the donation site. They may need more now! |
At the donation site, where they were astonished by the amount of donations (which we are mostly standing in front of!) |
Very nice coverage. Long but fruitful day.
