It's official, our 2012 Senior class has graduated and will start their real life journeys. Saturday was graduation and my first time attending. (Last year Isaac was too small and we had had too many baby-embarass-mommy moments at ICS events for me to even THINK about attending!)

Our students all get to speak at graduation, to say goodbyes and thank yous. Most of them spoke in English and then addressed their families in Korean, which was emotional. It's kinda funny, but if you know anything about "the heart language" you might suspect this would happen. The kids and audience just didn't get teary eyed much (if at all) when they spoke in English. BUt the second they switched to Korean, there was barely a dry eye around. I thought it especially ironic that I had NO CLUE what they were saying, but I was tearing up at the emotion of their words to their families.

One big change for our school this year was the venue. We used to hold graduation as a dinner event at a local hotel. It including tickets, a fancy dinner, an established hotel, ect. But now our city has this new community center (which we've used several times for church events) and we tested using it out for graduation this year. I think it was fabulous. We also changed the time to an afternoon time instead of dinner. Our teachers did all the decorations and food and they did fantastic!
