Farewell Dinner

Tonight was the annual farewell dinner for ICS teachers. In my "Year of Goodbyes" I'm saying see ya later to 6 teachers, most of whom started at ICS just 2 years ago with us.

Gather together!
This is the group that makes my emotions so confused. I don't want to say goodbye to these teachers because I know they are just breaking through to the students, building their trusts and making good relationships. I see how they've blossomed in the last 2 years and how our school has gained from their presence. And, personally, I just want the friends I have to stay! But then there's the weird part...that with this goodbye brings a whole new wave of hellos! (Cue cheesy "Hello, Goodbye" song here!) I love gaining new friends too, so it is all very confusing, sad and exciting.

Worship time on the roof :)
I didn't take many pictures from tonight but I loved our time together. We grilled at the Zangers' roof, played a picture memories game, ate lots of yummy things, sang praise songs together and prayed together. I encourage you, as well, to pray for these 6 teachers as they leave their positions as teachers and enter into new roles. Some of them know exactly where they are going next and some of them are waiting for the Lord to clearly guide their paths. And don't forget to pray for the people still here and coming to join us in the next year. God is NO WHERE NEAR DONE with PICS and I'm just thrilled to see what he's bringing us next year!

We covet your prayers!
